The Word, The Sound, The Shape:
Poetry in the Modern and Medieval Jewish World
A season of study dedicated to the memory of our dear friend, Jay Greenspan, z"l
Through text study and discussion, we will explore Jewish and Hebrew Poetry (translations provided), looking for meaning and hidden insight, while creating visual, musical and written midrashim.
At the end of the series, we will present our work to the community in a spring Shavuot exhibit.
When: 8 Sundays - February 4, 11, 18, March 4, 25, April 8, 22, May 6
10-11:30am
Where: Congregation Beth Sholom (Curtis Hereld Room)
Instructors: art facilitator Harriet Finck
Cost: $200 per person
More Info: Contact Carol Weinstein at suesuebird@aol.com
About our instructors: Harriet Finck has served as our art facilitator since the inception of the Artists' Beit Midrash. Harriet, originally trained as an architect, is a collagist whose work has been focused on two related ideas: putting the pieces of broken things together and finding form within chaos.
